Abstract

This paper presents a portable microstrip antenna with four radiation patches. The structure of the proposed antenna is simple. The four radiation patches are fed with different phases by the coaxial feeding, the main radiation direction of the antenna can be changed, so that the antenna achieves beam-switched and covers the upper half of space. The near-field reflection coefficient, the surface field distribution and far-field radiation patterns of the antenna model verify the working mechanism of the antenna. The antenna realizes circular polarization with good axial ratio value. Test results indicate that the beam width of the antenna is wider. The gain meets requirements. The better directionality of the measured antenna can be obtained. The proposed antenna has good impedance matching and potential application value in the Tiantong satellite mobile terminal.
