Abstract

The comparative study of effectiveness of monotherapy with H1-histamine receptor antagonist desloratadine and its combination with nasal glycocorticosteroid mometazon furoat was carried out in 34 children aged from 2 to 5 years with allergic rhinitis during 8 weeks. The efficacy of the treatment has been estimated by the dynamic of clinical symptoms and by the rhinoscopy findings. The study showed that both medicines were effective and safe in the treatment of children with allergic rhinitis. Good tolerance of the preparations in children at an early age was observed. It was shown that monotherapy with antihistamine drug was effective in the treatment of mild forms allergic rhinitis. Combination of antihistamine medicine and nasal glycocorticosteroid was very effectual in the therapy of medium-severe forms.
