Abstract

This entry reviews parenting styles and intrusive parenting such as parental psychological control. Historical perspectives of parenting dimensions and antecedents of psychological control are discussed. The entry also includes details about different measures of parenting as well as research findings about children's outcomes in response to various parenting styles and psychological control.
