Abstract

Modern agriculture technology allows farmers to be more precise and less wasteful in the use of fuel, fertilizer or seed and thus reduce the impacts on the environment. The use of Global Positioning System (GPS) in agriculture has revolutionized the way farming is conducted. GPS guidance systems applications provide a means to precisely apply pesticides, fertilizers and water to the plants thus helping the farmers to reduce skips and overlaps especially when working on a large field. Pest problem areas in crops can be pinpointed and mapped for future management decisions and input recommendations. This report will cover about how GPS can be used in spraying pesticides efficiently in order to prevent any wastage thus saving the cost as well as increases the quality of the crops.
