Abstract

Antibacterial are substances that can kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria, especially the pathogen for humans in the form of synthetic chemicals or natural products. One of the bacteria that can make a acne is Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. This study aims to determine the sensitivity of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 to three types of anti-acne serum brands ie X, Y, and Z. The experiments against were carried out by diffusion method which included sample preparation, culture suspension, agar plate media, bacterial identification and diffusion testing. Observations based on the presence of clear zone (mm). On the results are: the three most effective anti-acne serum inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 2592 is the serum X with clear zone 14 mm. Keywords: Staphylococcus aureus, acne, anti-acne serum, diffusion
