Abstract

8D is an important manufacturing problem solving method, described in standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001 automotive surplus criteria), and in handbooks of manufacturing companies. It is mainly used in automotive industry, in the whole supplier chain, but even in the machinery sector. The aim of this paper is to introduce the method and its connection with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
