Abstract

Changes of physico-chemical and biological properties during forced aerated composting were studied in the volumetric ratio of 3:2 between chicken manure and sawdust.Results showed that the temperature of pile could quickly rise to more than 55℃ after the second day after composting and maintain for 5 days,and sectional temperature of pile attained to 71℃.E.coli was deduced greatly from 2.8×1010CFU/g to 1.8×102CFU/g.Variation of pile temperature brought on successional changes in amount and species of bacteria,actinomyces and fungi.The organic matters,C/N ratio,moisture content and NH4+-N were apparently reduced,and NO3——N kept an increasing tendency.pH quickly rose to 8.45 in the first week,and finally attained at 7.22.The cress germination index was 92.2% in the 43rd day,which showed composting product had been mature.
