Abstract

Growing prospects of the Anadyr oil and gas basin in its offshore area are well substantiated on the basis of 2D geological modeling. The geothermal and geodynamic conditions have been proved favorable for oil generation within sedimentary cover, beginning with the Early Miocene. Close proximity of generation kitchens, migration pathways and growing dimensions of the structures in the basin offshore area have been proved by the latest structural mapping. Availability of several formations with good reservoir properties has been identified with drilling of the first wildcat in the Russian Sector of the Bering Sea. Search for semi-regional seals is the main target of the further exploration works in the offshore Anadyr oil and gas basin, in particular, in the Central-Anadyr sub-basin.
