Treatment of anoestrus in jersey crossbred heifers

Anestrus is one of the major reproductuive disorder leading to great economic losses. Management and nutrition are important factors for the reproductive cyclicity in dairy animals. The present study was conducted on 80 Jersey graded heifers. After confirmation of anoestrus by two consecutive per-rectal examinations, animals were divided into four groups according to treatment regimen. The overall results showed that the intrauterine infusion of lugol's solution and massage of uterus and ovaries were the effective methods to treat anoestrus especially under field conditions.
