Abstract
A general survey of plankton in Jinzhi River in Kunming City was carried out by qualitative integrated with quantitative analyses from January to May in 2007.The results showed that there were totally 60 species of plankton in Jinzhi River, which belonged to 54 genus,38 families and 8 divisions.Among which there were 56 species of phytoplankton belonging to 52 genus,34 families and 6 divisions;4 species of zooplankton belonging to 4 genus,4 families and 2 divisions. The phytoplankton species and quantity were much more than those of zooplankton,it was supposed that the major reason to cause the differences was the adaptability of different ecotypes of plankton to the water temperature and the environmental conditions. The survey showed that bacillariophyta was the dominant type of phytoplankton in Jinzhi River, the change of the water environment obviously impacted on the amount and biomass of phytoplankton in this severely polluted river.
