Abstract
Cattle manure is an important material in the livestock biogas plant.Scum is easily formed in the digester, which increases the risk of agglomeration and clogging, due to the high content of solid and fibre in cattle manure. The normal operation of the anaerobic digester will be affected by the scum on the surface which prevents the biogas escaping from the liquid phase smoothly. This paper introduces several solutions(High level outlet mixing, recirculation etc.are included) for avoiding scum in the digester, which can be the reference for the design and construction of biogas project.
