Abstract
This study is aimed at highlighting the place of community education in the success of community development programmes and projects. The failure or inability of the government to adequately meets the development needs in the communities’ calls for alternative approach. The concepts of community, education, community development and community education were fully examined. The various ways community education could enhance community development were also discussed. The study also proffered some recommendations which if followed will place the practice of community development in the right footing.
