Abstract

In this ever-changing highly competitive business world, organizations must continually enhance its performance. Existing research suggests that role of leadership is critically important for achieving the performance of organizations. Leadership is a kind of method and capability employed by leaders to positively affect organizational performance. While a considerable body of research evidence has been generated on the topic of leadership and its role in enhancing organizational performance, the subject needs to be treated from multi-dimensional perspectives. This paper proposes to share some of the perspectives of leadership from the point of view of different styles and types of leadership. An attempt has also been made to review the impact of leadership behaviour on organizational performance followed by a brief discussion on some of the successful corporate business leaders, who have impacted their organizational performance largely through their leadership styles and strategies.
