Abstract

In the February issue of ;login:, a numbre of interesting Asterisk topics based on the diaplan and AGI (Asterisk Gateway Interface) were revealed . The diaplan (as described in extension.com) is the heart of Asterisk; it uses exten => and [context] to route calls, which integrates PBX (private branch exchange), IVR (interctive voice response), an external applications. This article will start off with another diaplan trick for a home office, folllowed by a number of effective Caller ID applications using Asterisk.
