The 'Encounters' exhibition at the National Museum of Australia and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander oral and filmed recordings as learning and teaching resources

As part of the 'Encounters' project, the National Museum of Australia undertook a nationwide programme of community consultation which culminated in the production of more than 100 filmed interviews featuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members. Lily Withycombe worked closely on the production of the filmed interviews, while Stephen Munro has helped develop an 'Encounters' education kit. Together they explain how the filmed multimedia content from the 'Encounters' project could be used as a classroom resource to aid the teaching of history throughout Australia.
