Abstract
Volatile oils were obtained respectively from the leaves of Michelia alba DC. collected in spring(LM-1), and the flowers and leaves of M. alba collected in summer(FM,LM-2) by means of steam distillation technique. The chemical constituents of the oils were separated and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Seventy four compounds were identified from the leaves picked in spring. Eighty and 88 compounds were identified from the flowers and leaves picked in summer, respectively. Relative contents of constituents in 3 kinds of volatile oils amounted to 96.8%, 97.7% and 98.9% of total peaks area, respectively. There were differences among some chemical constituents of three kinds of volatile oils, but the main constituents were similar i.e., linalool, α-fenchene, eugenol methyl ether, (E)-ocimene, 2,4-diisopropenyl-1-methyl-1-vinylcyclohexane, caryophyllene, germacrene D, isoeugenyl methyl ether, nerolidol, α-humulene and eucalyptol.
