Abstract

New records of the Mediterranean water shrew, Neomys anomalus Cabrera (Insectivora, Soricidae), in the Sumy oblast.-Merzlikin I., Sheverdyukova A. -A new habitat of Mediterranean water shrew is found out near Tokari village in the Sumy region, which is located 3 km to noth-east of Sumy.Here on the bankof a small stream 2 Mediterranean water shrews were observed 20.01.2008.One Mediterranean water shrew was noticed again on the same placee 25.01.2009 and 19.12.2009.The length of the stream is 15 meters.It is lost in the boggy alder thickets.This place is 22 km far from the nearest known one, where Mediterranean water shrews were found.
