Abstract

The differential angular BETA -- gamma -correlation was measured for the cascade E/sub BETA / = 2.23 Mev and E/sub gamma = 0.163 Mev in the decay of Ba/sup 139/. The anisotropy coefficient for total BETA -particle energies of 4 mc/sup 2/ was found to equal a = + 0.058 plus or minus 0.023. The result is compared with that obtained by calculations performed on basis of the single- particle model. The theoretical result agrees with experiment only for negative values of the ratio g/sub V//g/sub A/. (tr-auth)
