Abstract

The study guide presents basic knowledge about discrete and continuous random variables and provides an overview of the law of large numbers and central limit theorem. The material is illustrated with examples, figures and various exercises. \nThis work continues the study guide «Elements of probability theory. Conception of probability» by Veselovskaya A. Z. and Shepelyavaya N. B. \nThe guide is aimed at students of non-mathematical specialties, especially students of SPbU Institute of Philosophy and Faculty of Philology.
