Abstract

Objective: To investigate the diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging( DWI) and apparent diffusion coefficient( ADC) value of the signal value of differential diagnosis in benign and malignant liver diseases. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 120 cases with 185 liver lesions from 2011 March- 2013 May,including 77 lesions of hepatic cysts,75 hepatic hemangioma lesions. We DWI scanned liver cancer in 33 lesions,and measured apparent diffusion coefficient( ADC value). Results: The liver cyst,hemangioma of liver,hepatocellular carcinoma ADC values were( 2. 63 ± 0. 11) × 10- 3mm2/s,( 1. 72 ± 0. 12) × 10- 3mm2/s,( 1. 03 ± 0. 08) × 10- 3mm2/s,and ADC values were decreased gradually. Differences between groups were statistically significant( P 0. 01). Conclusion: The analysis of the hepatic lesions DWI signal and the ADC value are important for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of hepatic benign,malignant lesions. They can detect small lesions which cannot be found in conventional liver test application of diffusion weighted imaging,but they have certain restrictions in qualitative diagnosis.
