The Position, Potential Issues and Countermeasure of Xinjiang Grassland Animal Husbandry

Before the 70s-80s of last century, about 70%-80% of animal products comes from nature rangeland. The grassland animal husbandry provided an important contribution to national economic development and people's life of Xinjiang. However, due to the grassland animal husbandry is fully rely on nature rangeland, the old and traditional production method, poor efficiency and slow development speed caused it became a disadvantaged industry. The grassland animal husbandry is an important port for modern animal husbandry development in Xinjiang, which should take efficiency method to promote the sound development of grassland agricultural. Main measure that should be taken at present are set up basic rangeland protection system, increase the rangeland construction input, change the old and traditional production method, increase livestock supplementary feeding standard during the cold season. Once the herdsman in the pastoral area has ability to do with the idea of according to the heads of feeding animal to produce enough forage and feedstuff that means the production of grassland animal husbandry is stepped into the modernization.
