Survey of Results of Removable Partial Dentures

Objectives: To study the outcomes of treatment with removable partial denture and explore the factors associated with patient dissatisfaction. Methods: Treatment outcome was evaluated by satisfaction items and clinical examination in 63 patients who had the removable partial dentures more than 5 years. Results: Over 70% of the patients were satisfied with the prosthesis, but some of dissatisfaction existed. One-fifth of removable partial dentures required adjustment and about one-third of the prosthesis was associated with the abutment teeth caries. Conclusion: A majority of the patients treated with a removable partial denture were satisfied with the prosthesis after using more than 5 years.
