Surgery of the cholesteatoma otitis media assisted by otic endoscope

Objective:To explore the method of minimally invasive surgery for the cholesteatoma otitis media only located in epitympanum.Method:Thirty two cases of middle ear cholesteatoma limited in epitympanum were treated. All cases were verified by auxiliary examination and pathology.Result:Among 32 cases 28 ears obtained dry ears after operation in one month, the hearing in 15 cases were improved and the tympanic membranes in 13 cases were cured.Conclusion:These results suggest that this operation can clear the lesion effectively, guard against complications and prevent the cholesteatoma further developing.
