The work presents selected methods of mathematical statistics applied to the examination of the correctness of geodetic equipment operation. Specifically, measurements made with electronic total stations will be tested using statistical compatibility tests and identity tests of empirical measurement error distributions with the theo- retical normal distribution N (0;1).
