Abstract
Traditional Chinese culture famous for its inclusiveness and harmony is a treasure of oriental civilization.Under the context of world culture,it seems very precious to inherit traditional culture. Contemporary design could not continue without traditional culture since inheriting traditional culture is a significant theme. In this paper,I not only discuss the connotation of traditional culture from the perspectives of philosophy and aesthetics, but also analyze the excellent cases of traditional cultural heritage in contemporary space design from design arts studies,in addition, based upon practical cases,I explore the expression means and design techniques of applying traditional culture to contemporary design as well.
