Abstract
High sulfur bauxite was roasting pretreated with rotary kiln and the effects of roasting temperature and time on sulfur content and digestion performance of high sulfur bauxite were investigated.Further studies on desulphurization mechanism and roasting mechanism of high sulfur mineral were conducted. The experimental results indicated that sulfur element in bauxite was successfully discharged in gas form and the sulfur content of high sulfur bauxite achieved the industrial standard(0.7%) of alumina production in china under the conditions of roasting temperature 700 ℃ and roasting time 30 min.The digestion performance of roasted ore through fluosolid roasting pretreatment improved greatly: the digestion temperature decreased from 240 ℃ to 220 ℃,and the optimum mixture molecular ratio decreased from 1.5 to 1.3.
