Abstract
Aim:To explore the relationship between the levels of fructose in seminal plasma and male fertility.Methods:A total of 34 semen samples from normal males and 897 samples from infertility patients were performed routine semen analysis and seminal fructose determination.Results:The level of fructose in seminal plasma was positively correlated with motility rate(r=0.158,P0.05) and prorsad sperm ratio(r=0.182,P0.05).The total fructose in the seminal plasma was positively correlated with sperm count(r=0.101,P0.05),motility rate(r=0.143,P0.05),prorsad sperm ratio(r=0.175,P0.05) and semen volume(r=0.255,P0.05).Conclusion: The detection of the level of fructose in the seminal plasma might have significant value to evaluate the function of seminal vesicles and to judge male fertility.
