Abstract
The performance surfaces for the modems and the maximum appropriate limits for the parameters of narrowband HF communication channels were studied and compared. The application of an ionosonde for these purposes was analyzed. Studies focused on the development of the algorithms for estimating, by means of sounding, key parameters of an ordered set of narrowband channels with different mid-band frequencies that could be termed as a HF multi-channel.
