Abstract

The Competitive Industries and Innovation Program (CIIP) aims to develop and pilot a joint approach to Global Value Chain analysis that is relevant and applicable to developing country contexts. Each value chain activity has different potential to catalyze economic development and productive transformation. Therefore as we move into a new, more uncertain phase of industrialization, it is important to understand where and how value is created within the global value chain so as to know which value chain activities to compete for.
