Abstract
As a result of the research, a catalyst was synthesized for the gas-phase alkylation of benzene with various alkylating agents to ethylbenzene. To obtain a catalyst, zeolite HZSM-5 was mixed with pseudo-boehmite in a ratio of 70/30 % by weight. The resulting mass was molded into granules by extrusion. The granules were dried for 3 h at a temperature of 120-150 °C, then calcined for 4 h at 650 °C in an atmosphere of air, and then subjected to thermocouple treatment in an atmosphere of water vapor at a temperature of 500 °C for 1 h. Using synthesized the catalyst carried out the reaction of alkylation of benzene with ethylene, ethane-ethylene fractions of various compositions and ethane at a temperature of 400 °C, a pressure of 2.5 MPa, a molar ratio of benzene : alkylating agent 7 : 1 (in terms of 100 % ethylene), flow rate benzene 15 h-1. The reaction of benzene alkylation with ethane was carried out under the same conditions, the molar ratio of benzene : ethane was 7 : 1. When an ethane-ethylene fraction containing 80 % by volume is used as the alkylating agent ethylene and 20 % vol. ethane, instead of ethylene polymerization purity in the alkylation reaction of benzene on the synthesized catalyst, the ethylbenzene content in the alkylate increases by 5.0 %, and the byproducts of diethylbenzenes and polyalkylbenzenes decreases by 7.6 %.
