This paper dealt with the effect of different light cycle on growth of M. aeruginosa and M. viridis. According to the light cycle, both species was divided into five treatments: [2L/22D], [5L/19D], [7L/17D], [9L/15D] and controlled [12L/12D];and the experiment was lasted 20 days. The results showed that the treatment [9L/15D] of M. aeruginosa had the highest μmax and bmax whiel M. viridis had the highest μmax and bmax in the controlled treatment [12L/12D]. The μmax and bmax of both species increased following the increasing rate of light cycle.
