Perspective on understanding and using of economic threshold in pest control

The authors analyzed some problems with determination and application of an economic threshold in the lit-erature . The problems with determination come from experimentation and calculation. The problems with experimenta-tion were involved in gradient and scale of pest density, simulated damage, observed time duration and insect instars, and size of samples. The problems with calculation were involved in pest amount, estimated yield and control efficien-cy . The problems with application come from control action time, selection of investments, natural survival percentage of pest and crop yield level. Suggestions were given to avoid these pitfalls.
