Abstract

LEACH protocol is one of the most important routing protocols in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). LEACH protocol is a hierarchical routing protocol based on clustering. To a certain extent, the LEACH protocol balances the energy consumption of every node; However, because the sensor nodes are mostly powered by batteries, the energy is limited, and the shortcomings of the LEACH protocol will cause premature death. In this paper, from the perspective of improving energy efficiency, an improved protocol based on LEACH protocol-l-LEACH-EQ protocol is put forward. Through simulation and comparison of MATLAB, it is concluded that the improved protocol has obvious advantages and can extend the working time of the whole network. The experimental results show that the improved routing protocol has a certain improvement in the node's survival time, energy consumption and so on.
