Estudo comparativo das etnias italiana e negra de acordo com o fototipo cutâneo e os cuidados com a pele

People of different backgrounds and races may have the same skin type. That is why it is said that the skin type is universal. Having a differentiation in the skin color of each individual, in the present study the white and black skin colors were represented by the Italian and Black ethnicities, showing that the biggest difference between the two is not only in skin color but also in structures such as differences due to the size, number and morphology of melanosomes , besides the differences found in the epidermis, dermis, adjoining glands and hair follicles. The overall objective is to evaluate the cutaneous phototype of the Italian and Black ethnicities, aiming for the skin care. It is a cross-sectional study whose sample consisted of 50 individuals, 25 of each ethnicity, of both sexes, in the age group between 18 and 85 years old, in the city of Criciuma-SC. Data were collected through a questionnaire. The results show that in the Black ethnic group there is a predominance of mixed skin, as well as in the Italian ethnicity. The skin of most of the interviewees, 17 from the Black ethnicity and 18 from the Italian ethnicity, has spots. When exposed to the sun, it was observed that the skin of interviewees from both ethnicities were burn moderately. With the results, we can verify and compare the cutaneous phototype of the ethnic groups, classifying the skin of Black ethnicity between phototype III and IV and the skin of Italian ethnicity as phototype II. This paper reached a conclusion about the importance of the evaluation and knowledge about skin, since all 50 interviewees claimed the importance of classifying their phototype and also claimed the importance of the necessary care that their skin needs, but they do not know the damages that the skin is exposed if it is without the necessary care.
