Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the various technological and construction features we encounter on cable and pipe laying vessels. The work is divided into five parts. The first part introduces the problem of laying submarine cables and pipelines. The second part describes in detail the dynamic positioning system, a technological feature without which cable and pipeline laying vessels could not meet today's market requirements. The third part describes cable laying vessels. There are described the steps before starting the laying, such as cable selection, and steps during the laying. Various equipment on cable laying ships is pictured. In the fourth part are described the pipeline vessels that are divided by the laying technique. The fifth part of the work is a conclusion that is the result of the whole work.
