Abstract

Toxic managers, perform the required tasks andbehaviors in abnormal way, current manager hasbecome a fact of today’s business life. Instead ofbeing constructive toxic managers are generallyunkind towards employees and making joblife difficult for their employees and affect theemployees’ performance, motivation, productivitynegatively. The aim of this study is to translate thetoxic manager behaviors scale developed by Kusyand Holloway (2010) in to Turkish and to examine thereliability and validity of the scale. For this purposeSPSS 22.0 and LISREL 9.2 statistical programs usingand exploratory and confirmatory factor analysishas been performed to these data. According tothe exploratory factor analysis, the scale is formedon a single factor and it has been observed that theinternal coefficient consistence of the scale is 0,92.Scale that measures the structure single factor hasbeen confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis byusing LISREL 9.2 program and it has been observedthat fit indices of the scale are significantly better. As a result, the scale has a satisfactory level ofreliability and validity for Turkish employees andcould be used in future studies.
