Abstract

The commencement of statute of PRC consumer protection law (Second Amendment) on March 15, 2014, has a important significance. It provides comprehensive provisions for the protection of consumer’s personal information and fills up the legal gaps of this area in China. However, there are still some problems especially in the implementation of the law, such as too principled provisions of the articles and the imperfection of protection of consumer personal information. Basing on the interpretation and analysis of the relevant legal provisions about the protection of personal information in the PRC consumer protection law, this paper has proposed such recommendations as the relevant administrative or judicial organs should promulgate the implementation of the PRC consumer protection law and refine the articles on the protection of consumer personal information. The hope can further do the legislative improvement of protection of consumer personal information in China through these suggestions.
