Abstract

Abstract Cell free extracts from Cephalosporium acremonium containing deacetoxy/deacetyl cephalosporin C synthetase activities are shown to convert exomethylene cephalosporin C (I) directly to deacetyl cephalosporin C (II), a precursor in the cephalosporin C (III) biosynthesis.
