Abstract

Abstract Synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical stilbene derivatives (II), (VII), and (X) is achieved by a combination of one‐pot steps of Kornblum type oxidation of benzyl halide (I), its simultaneous in situ formation of phosphonium salt, and subsequent Wittig reaction.
