Abstract

Abstract On reaction of a 2:1 mixture of solid Mg(tol)2 (tol: p‐tolyl) and 221‐cryptand the 1H NMR spectrum indicates the presence of a complex (Mg(tol)(221‐cryptand))+ and (Mg(tol)3)‐, a type of ion not having been observed previously.
