Abstract

Abstract The 1,5‐dicarboxylates (I) are coupled with two equivalents of the methyl acetoacetate (II) dianion to form the intermediate tetraoxodicarboxylates (III) which are directly cyclized, yielding the hydroxytetralones (IV).
