Abstract

Several coumarins have been synthesised by Knoevenagel condensation in the piperidine/HOAc/moisture stable room temperature ionic liquid ([Emim] + BF 4 - referring to structure) system at room temperature; the yield of the reaction is good and the reaction medium can be recycled.
