Abstract
Cosolvents are defi ned as water-miscible organic solvents that are used in liquid drug formulations to increase the solubility of poorly water-soluble substances or to enhance the chemical stability of a drug. This entry works to define cosolvency through the employment of specific formulas and equations and discusses the effects of cosolvents on the chemical stability of drugs.
