Abstract

This chapter focuses on representations of violence and non-violence in Palestinian society in colonial violence. The dichotomy of violence and non-violence in the Palestinian society has to be framed within the fact that the Israeli ‘original violence’ breeds a violent response on the part of the Palestinians. This article explains the history of violence in Palestinian society, paradoxical views and practices, internal Palestinian debates about violence or non-violence.
