Abstract

Cognitive radio network is a wireless communication network system consisting of several different networks that share wireless spectrum usage. One of the essential things that must be considered in the cognitive radio network is how to allocate available channels resource to users. Inappropriate channel usage can have an impact on the quality of system performance. This paper presents a channel selection method for users on cognitive radio networks based on firefly algorithm. The use of this algorithm aims to allocate the best channels for users to minimize the interference received. The results of the implementation are evaluated through simulation. The results of the simulation show that this method can optimize the use of resources on cognitive radio networks with more optimal. Thus, overall system performance remains optimal.
