Abstract

Improving the scavenging quality has great effects on the performance of two stroke engines and it is also helpful to decrease the fuel consumption and to reduce emissions. So how to get the maximum scavenging efficiency with different scavenging methods has attracted many companies to research. Different scavenging methods were analyzed in this paper by citing the research methods used by abroad scholars especially for characteristics and parameters of the loop scavenging, uniform scavenging and cross scavenging. At last, a mixed scavenging method developed by one company was introduced showing that the method is beneficial to decrease the scavenging blind spots and to improve the exhaust velocity, which will improve the scavenging quality and provide theory basis for the research in the future.
