Driving simulator experiment for automatic collision avoidance system in autonomous vehicle is conducted in this paper. The automatic collision avoidance system avoids the collision with a pedestrian by using automatic steering and/or automatic braking. We treated simulations in which a pedestrian walks across a road. Even in the simulations, however, the result has been good, there is a possibility that it may not be accepted by the driver getting on the autonomous car according to the avoidance methods. In this study, therefore, we carry out the driving simulator experiment of emergency avoidance of a pedestrian who walked across a road. We evaluate the effectiveness of the system and the driver acceptability. As a result, we learned how to maneuver automatic collision avoidance system in which the driver's acceptability increases while maintaining the emergency avoidance performance.
