Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the risk factors of diabetes in middle aged women vy exercise i ntensity. The subjects were middle - aged women ( 48 ~ 5 5) i n Gyeonggi - do, Korea. The groups were divided into low intensity aerobic exercise group (LIEG, 40% VO2R, n=10), medium strength aerobic exercise group (MIEG, 60% VO₂R, n=10) and control group (CG, n=9). The exercises were performed three times a week for 12 weeks. The treadmill was used for the exercise and the exercise time (ACSM) was applied to each individual to equalize the exercise. After 12 weeks of aerobic exercise, glucose changes were significantly decreased in MIEG (p.01), low intensity aerobic exercise group (LIEG) and control group (CG) There was no significant difference between the two groups. In addition, insulin and HOMA-IR before and after aerobic exercise decreased significantly (p.05) (p.05) in the midand low-intensity aerobic exercise groups. Therefore, regular long-term low intensity and moderate intensity range aerobic exercise is effective for the improvement of diabetes risk factors in obese middle-aged women.
