Abstract
To solve practical problems in the development of thermal power plants, it is necessary to improve the materials used, to introduce new and better steels and alloys, and to use new manufacturing processes for steam generating equipment. The chemical composition, mechanical properties, fabrication methods, and heat treatments of steels recommended for steam generators, pressure vessels, boiler tubes, steam pipes, and steam turbines for high capacity power plants are discussed. (LCL)
