Abstract
In this paper, forecast of spectrum requirement for mobile broadband is presented. The increasing growth of data traffic led to higher demand for broadband communications. This demand problem can be overcome by the use of the 24 GHz band as gigabit wireless networking spectrum. This study aims to see the potential use of the 24 GHz band. Judging from the penetration of internet sevices in various region, the islands with highest population density mostly using mobile broadband. So the solution for spectrum requirements for mobile broadband is to reallocation spectrum with the fast reliable conectivity service. The forecast methodology for 5G spectrum needs adapted from K-ICT for IMT 2020 Korea for two type regions, it consists of three categories areas including dense urban, urban and suburban. Among those region, the region with highest population density has wide spectrum requirement. For mobile broadband services has spectrum requirement over 370MHz and is expected to increase by 10% in 2024. And for massive machine type communication services in overcrowded area has spectrum requirement over 1233MHz.
